Bunni Pounds
Bunni Pounds is a national leader, author, and founder of Christians Engaged, a movement that has mobilized more than one million Christians to pray, vote, and engage in their communities. Under her leadership, the organization worked with more than 800 churches, equipped more than 3,200 people through civics and biblical worldview courses, and mentored more than 125 young adults through trips and retreats.
Bunni is also the visionary behind America Reads the Bible 2026, a historic Scripture initiative celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Hosted at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., the event brought together nearly 500 national leaders to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. More than 120 Christian ministries participated, along with Cabinet members, governors, Members of Congress, Hollywood stars, and representatives from nearly all 50 states. Produced by Great American Pure Flix, the production received three million views and more than 5,000 media hits in its first week.
Before founding Christians Engaged, Bunni spent 16 years as a political consultant and campaign manager, working with Members of Congress. In 2018, she ran for Congress in Texas in a nearly million-dollar campaign and was endorsed by numerous national leaders.
Bunni is the author of Jesus and Politics: One Woman’s Walk with God in a Mudslinging Profession and Stepping Up to Lead: Rebuilding a Nation in the Footsteps of Nehemiah, which features a foreword by Candace Cameron Bure and endorsements from 20 national leaders.
A graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute and Dallas Baptist University, Bunni’s greatest passion is sharing the gospel and helping people discover the simplicity and joy of walking with God.
Bunni has been married to her husband, Tim, since 1996. They have two grown sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and three precious grandchildren.
